What is Hypnobirthing?
Often people are sceptical about the term hypnobirthing as they envisage something only for hippies or strange stage hypnosis. Rest assured this is very different...
Hypnobirthing is simple, logical and is based on self-hypnosis methods. The techniques use relaxation to help you dispel the fear and negativity around pregnancy and birth, and replace it with positivity, calm and confidence, and can help you achieve the birth that is right for you and your baby. The techniques can also be useful in other aspects of your life after the birth too.
Often hypnobirthing is associated only with home births or water births, which can make women feel that it is not for them. I firmly believe that all women can and should be empowered to feel confident and in control of their birth experience, whether it is at home, in a birth centre or even in a hospital operating theatre, and hypnobirthing can help you achieve this.
I teach a complete midwife-led antenatal and birth preparation course using hypnobirthing techniques. I offer interesting, interactive and informative classes in a relaxed environment, giving you the opportunity to fully prepare for the birth of your baby, whilst also meeting new people and building a supportive network of friends. Alternatively, I also offer private bespoke classes in the comfort of your own home.
It is taught in a very logical and evidence based format which is accessible and easy to understand, and it is interesting. The course involves practical demonstrations of the power of the mind, and listening to relaxations, which will allow you to experience straightway how easy and simple it is, and how it works and will have a positive effect on your pregnancy and birth experience.
What will I learn?
The basis of the course is learning the importance of remaining relaxed during labour and birth to allow your body to work optimally to birth your baby and practicing the techniques to do so.
